The West Asian Games is organized to be held every two years
in the year preceding the Asian Games by the proposal of NOC
of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the approval of the OCA
president, Sheikh Ahmad Ahmad Al Sabah and the members of
the OCA West Asian Zone countries, with the following
objectives:
-To promote and develop the human morals and physical
qualities through sport.
-To benefit from sport as a positive movement for building a
better and more peaceful world.
-To spread the Olympic principles in the west Asia by
creating good will and unity in the region.
-To harmonize and gather the West Asian Countries in the
festival of the west Asian Games.
An Introduction to the
Host (Tehran)
Tehran is situated on the southern of the Alborz Mountains.
It lies at an elevation of 1,1000 meters above the Caspian
Sea level and it is the latest and the most populous city of
the Iran and also ranks among the prominent cities of the
World. Tehran which means "warm slope: , was a village in
suburb of the ancient Iranian Capital of RAyy, after the
fall of Rayy by the Mongols in 1220 AD, it residents moved
to Tehran.
The selection conflicts which was followed by blind
destructiveness, plunder a massacre launched by the Mongols
(1218-1334 AD) brought about the destruction of Rayy in
1220, and paved the way for increase in population of
Tehran.
From Saharivar 1320/ September 1974, and over the course of
subsequent flour decades, the shape of the city heavily
altered, the city witnessed the erection of the modern
public and governmental buildings. On February 1st 1979
Tehran witnessed the largest ever multitude of masses who
gathered, occupying a 30KM distance, to welcome the return
of their Imam Khomeini from exile. During the imposed war,
Tehran, was also encountered with many predicaments.
For many times it was reined and hit by more than 120
long-range missiles. With the ending of war a few era has
started, with the towards restoration, recognition and
development based on sheer energy and constructiveness.
Thus, Tehran a city emerged from the old days is going to
become, without losing its original identity, one of the
most beautiful cities of the World. Tehran enjoys the
largest sports complex in country Azadi Sports Complex which
embraces a 100000 seats football stadium, a magnificent
cycling track and a large modern swimming pool.
Besides these facilities are a 12000 seats gymnasium,
basketball , volleyball, table tennis, weightlifting and
fencing competition halls.

SLOGAN
Faith
Health
Growth
The above designated motto can be described as follows:
Faith : Sincere belief in the almighty god.
Health ; strength and equilibrium and an ability to lead and
effective life.
Growth : The natural of evolution of man along with his
spiritual transcendence.
The above three attributes collectively possessed by an

The initial design of the emblem represents a noble oriental
symbol which came to be used with the advent of 'Islam for
the decoration of Islamic infrastructure, the picture, shown
as a graphic designs (as a unit), formed the main symbol and
initial structure of the emblem. The emblem was so designed
to correspond with on the of the forms pertained to an
Islamic decorative art called 'Bott-e-Jeghie" which some
what resembles the Olympic symbol, the rings, which convey a
message of solidarity and friendship.
Interlacing these units with a view to the five Olympic
rings, the units now form a super or a complete unit. The
picture has now been repeated clock-wise around an invisible
circle which signifies the existing solidarity amongst the
west Asian countries united around one single center. – Sun
being the main OCA symbol, is here placed in the center of
the emblem which shows the central position of the Olympic
Council of Asian in this Games.
Definitions in the initial unit:
The heart : The sensorial center in human body.
Leaf : leaf symbolizes growth.
