Minutes of 12th General Assembly Meeting

Attendance
Representatives of all Olympic Committees of WAGF countries have attended the meeting constituting complete quorum.
Meeting Proceedings
1. The meeting was started with the welcome speech of WAGF President H.E Sheikh Talal Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. He welcomed and greeted the attendees and wished them pleasant stay in their second country.
2. Approved the minutes of 11th WAGF General Assembly meeting held in Salwa hall of Sheraton Hotel, Doha - Qatar on 2/12/2006.
3. As per the request from WAGF President the meeting discussed the amendments & additions made on Federation Constitution which was approved by Board of Directors of WAGF.
4. General Assembly approved all amendments and addition in the Federation Constitution.
5. Approved the addition of new clause in WAGF Federation Constitution regarding dropping of membership at WAGF. As per the clause if any of the member did not attend 3 meetings continuously or a total of 5 meetings with or without any reasons, he will loose the membership automatically.
6. Approved the change of the term Permanent Secretarial mentioned in WAGF Constitution to Secretariat.
7. Approved to include 60 Olympic & Asian sports items in west Asian Games. The hosting country should organize at least 10 Olympic Games and including Athletics & Swimming games. The hosting country is permitted to include the other games approved by Asian Olympic Committee such as Coastal and In-door games.
8. Approving the draft of Host City Contract and approve the recommendation by the board to form a committee comprising of H.E Sheikh Talal Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah (President) and Dr. Abdul Gani Tabbalat (Chairman - Sports Committee) and Mr. Haider Farmani (Representative of Olympic Council of Asia) to consult the clauses and final approval.
9. Approved the nomination provided by some members to WAGF Committees and an extension of one week from the date of meeting is given to other members to provide their nomination.
10. Approval of the recommendation by the board to assign the President and Committees chairmen to finalize the formation & approval of WAGF committees within two weeks of the meeting.
11. Approved the decision of WAGF Board of Directors to postpone the search of host city for the next WAGF Games until the countries that wish to host the Games submit their files no later than March 2008.
12. Ensure that all the efforts are done to serve the Sports in West Asian Countries especially the participation of Women & Men in games and to ensure that the WAGF games in future are taking the right track for conducting the Games as per the schedule.
