West Asian Games Federation 5th Board of Directors Meeting

West Asian Games Federation (WAGF) Minutes of 5th Board of Directors Meeting held in National Olympic and Paralympic Academy hall, Tehran, I. R. of Iran on Wednesday 11 Jun. 2008 at 10AM.

Attendance
All members except Mr. Ahmad Al Samarrai, Dr. Rashed Al Heraiwel & Mr. Ahmad Al Maskery were attended. Total number of attendees was 12 out of 15 and which is sufficient to ensure a quorum.

Meeting Proceedings
1-The meeting was started with the welcome speech of WAGF President and he thanked the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people and Iranian Olympic Committee for their hospitality and he welcomed members of the West Asian Games Federation.

2-Approved the minutes of 4rd WAGF Board of Directors meeting held in JW Marriot Hotel, Kuwait on Wednesday 23/01/2008 at 12:00 PM.

3-The Secretary General of the WAGF presented a report indicating the achievements and work done by the WAGF and put forward some proposals that would increase the efficiency of the WAGF Games.

4-Discussed the issue of organizing some championships, which bears the name of West Asia under Asian Federation and decided to examine and discuss with Olympic Council of Asia and Asian Federations in this regard.

5-Secretary General of WAGF proposed to conduct the West Asian Youth Championship and the Board recommended studying the subject in the future.

6-Board approved the offer submitted by Islamic Republic of Iran to host the 4th West Asian Games in 2010 instead of 2009 due to their commitment to organize the Islamic Games in 2009 and decided to raise the issue at General Assembly to held it in Islamic Republic of Iran at least two months prior to the Asian Games which is to be held in Guangzhou, China during the period 12-27 December 2010 and to organize the games every four years starting from the year 2010.

7-Board agreed in principle to hold the next meeting of the Board of Directors in October 2008 Indonesia (Bali City) on the sidelines of the Beach Games or in the State of Kuwait.

8-Board approved to support Gulf Cooperative Council (G.C.C) women's sports by providing ways to develop the administrative and technical cadres.
